The 151 Brew Club hosts four competitions each year based on styles selected by club members. All members are eligible to compete in the competitions, or serve as judges.
2024 Competition Styles and Calendar
- March 24: Czech Premium Pale Lager (3B)
- May 26: British Brown Ale (13B)
- August 25: Blonde Ale (18A)
- November 24: Belgian Dubbel (26B)
Competition Procedures
Participants should bring two unmarked bottles for the competition, and an extra bottle to share.
FIRST ROUND
- 1-3 judging tables, depending on the number of entries
- 3–4 judges per table, including a brewer or BJCP-certified judge at each table to act as a mentor
- Top 2 scoring beers from each table advance to the finals (4 beers total advance to the final round)
FINAL ROUND
- 1 judging table
- 3 new judges
- Medals awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
